ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਨ 1. ਕਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਰਾਏਪੁਰ ਦੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿਓ । 

ਉੱਤਰ- ਰਾਏ ਲਾਲਾ ਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਨੇ 1560 ਈ : ਵਿੱਚ ਪਿੰਡ ਰਾਏਪੁਰ ' ਤੇ ਕਬਜ਼ਾ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਸੀ । ਉਸ ਨੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਣ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਪੰਜ ਕਿਲ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਨਿਰਮਾਣ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਜਿਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਰਾਏਪੁਰ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਕਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਰਾਏਪੁਰ ਦੇ ਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ । ਪਿੰਡ ਕਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਰਾਏਪੁਰ ਜ਼ਿਲਾ ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ ਦੇ ਦੱਖਣ ਵੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਗਿਆਰਾਂ ਕੁ ਮੀਲ ਦੀ ਦੂਰੀ ' ਤੇ ਡੇਹਲੋਂ ( ਕਸਬੇ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ ) ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਸਥਿਤ ਹੈ । ਪਿੰਡ ਕਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਰਾਏਪੁਰ ਰਲਵ ਲਾਈਨ ਅਤੇ ਸੜਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ । 

ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਨ 2. ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਰਾਏਪੁਰ ਪੇਂਡੂ ਉਲੰਪਿਕ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਕਦੋਂ ਹੋਇਆ ? 

ਉੱਤਰ- ਕਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਰਾਏਪੁਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ 1933 ਈ : ਵਿੱਚ ਜਲੰਧਰ ਵਿਖੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਾਕੀ ਟੂਰਨਾਮੈਂਟ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਹੋਇਆ । ਇਸ ਟੂਰਨਾਮੈਂਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਿੰਡ ਕਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਰਾਏਪੁਰ ਦੀ ਹਾਕੀ ਟੀਮ ਨੇ ਦੂਜਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ । ਭਾਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਟੂਰਨਾਮੈਂਟ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਮਹੱਤਵ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਪਰ ਇਸ ਜਿੱਤ ਨੇ ਕਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਰਾਏਪੁਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਅਹਿਮ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਨਿਭਾਈ । ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਦਾ ਮੰਤਵ ਕੱਪ ਜਿੱਤ ਕੇ ਲਿਆਏ ਖਿਡਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਹੌਸਲਾ ਅਫ਼ਜਾਈ ਕਰਕੇ ਹਰ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਉਤਸਾਹਿਤ ਕਰਨਾ ਸੀ । ਜਦੋਂ ਇਹ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੋਚਿਆ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਕਿ ਕਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਰਾਏਪੁਰ ਦਾ ਖੇਡ ਮੇਲਾ ਪੇਂਡੂ ਉਲੰਪਿਕ ਦੇ ਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪੂਰੀ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾਮਣਾ ਖੱਟੇਗਾ । 

ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਨ 3. ਕਿਲਾ ਰਾਏਪੁਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਪੁਰਾਤਨ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕੀ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹੋ ?

ਉੱਤਰ- ਇਹ ਖੇਡ ਮੇਲਾ ਪੰਜ ਦਰਿਆਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ' ਤੇ ਵਸਦੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਜੁੱਸੇ , ਚੌੜੀਆਂ ਛਾਤੀਆਂ , ਖੁੱਲ੍ਹੇ ਸੁਭਾਅ , ਛੈਲ - ਛਬੀਲੇ ਗੱਭਰੂਆਂ , ਨਾਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਬਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨਾਮਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਤਰਜਮਾਨੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ । ਇਸ ਖੇਡ ਮੇਲੇ ਨੇ ਅਨੇਕ ਹੀ ਪੁਰਾਤਨ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਲੋਪ ਹੋਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾ ਲਿਆ । ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੇਂਡੂ ਖੇਡ ਮੇਲੇ ਕਰਵਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਪਿਰਤ ਕਲਾ ਰਾਏਪੁਰ ਦੇ ਖੇਡ ਮੇਲੇ ਨੇ ਪਾਈ ਹੈ । ਕਿਲਾ ਰਾਏਪੁਰ ਦਾ ਖੇਡ ਮੇਲਾ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਪੇਂਡੂ ਖੇਡ ਮੇਲਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੀੜ ਦੀ ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ।

ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਨ 4. ਕਿਲਾ ਰਾਏਪੁਰ ਖੇਡ ਮੇਲਾ ਅਕਰੂਬਰ ਤੋਂ ਨਵੰਬਰ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਕਿਉ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ? 

ਉੱਤਰ- ਜਦੋਂ ਇਹ ਖੇਡ ਮੇਲਾ ਹੋਂਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਇਆ ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੇਤੀ ਬਲਦਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਸੀ । ਕਿਸਾਨ ਕੋਤਕ ਦੇ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਫ਼ਸਲ ਬੀਜ ਕੇ ਵਿਹਲੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ । ਬਲਦਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਸਤ ਹੋਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਬੈਲਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਦੌੜਾਂ ਲਗਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ 1934 ਈ : ਵਿੱਚ ਬੈਲ ਗੱਡੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਦੌੜਾਂ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰਵਾਇਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ । ਬੈਲ ਗੱਡੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਦੌੜਾਂ ਇਸ ਖੇਡ ਮੇਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਰਸ਼ਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਖਿੱਚ ਦਾ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਬਣ ਗਈਆਂ । ਇੱਕ ਮਾਲ , ਰਿਕਾਰਡ ਤੋੜ 133 ਬੈਲ ਗੱਡੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਖੇਡ ਮੇਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਗ ਲਿਆ । ਬੈਲ ਗੱਡੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਦੌੜਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਚਾਰ - ਚਾਰ ਬੈਲ ਗੱਡੀਆਂ ਇਕੱਠੀਆਂ ਭਜਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਪਿਰਤ ਕਿਲਾ ਰਾਏਪੁਰ ਦੇ ਖੇਡ ਮੈਦਾਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਬਾ ਬਖਸ਼ੀਸ਼ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਤੋਰੀ । ਬਾਬਾ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀਸ਼ ਸਿੰਘ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਦਾ ਮਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਬੈਲ ਗੱਡੀ ਚਾਲਕ ਸੀ , ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਤਿੰਨ ਦਹਾਕਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਆਪਣੀ ਜਿੱਤ ਦਾ ਚਾਬੁਕ ਹਵਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਹਿਰਾਇਆ । 

ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਨ 5. ਬਾਬਾ ਬਖਸ਼ੀਸ਼ ਸਿੰਘ ਕਿਲਾ ਰਾਏਪੁਰ ਖੇਡ ਮੇਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਉਂ ਪਸਿਧ ਸੀ ? 

ਉੱਤਰ- ਬੈਲ ਗੱਡੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਦੌੜਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਚਾਰ - ਚਾਰ ਬੈਲ ਗੱਡੀਆਂ ਇਕੱਠੀਆਂ ਭਜਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਪਿਰਤ ਕਿਲਾ ਰਾਏਪੁਰ ਦੇ ਖੇਡ ਮੈਦਾਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਬਾ ਬਖਸ਼ੀਸ਼ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਤੋਰੀ । ਬਾਬਾ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀਸ਼ ਸਿੰਘ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਦਾ ਮਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਬੈਲ ਗੱਡੀ ਚਾਲਕ ਸੀ , ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਤਿੰਨ ਦਹਾਕਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਆਪਣੀ ਜਿੱਤ ਦਾ ਚਾਬੁਕ ਹਵਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਹਿਰਾਇਆ । ਇਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਦਰਸ਼ਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ' ਤੇ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਟੱਪੇ ਸੁਭਾਵਿਕ ਹੀ ਚੜ ਗਏ : ** ਬਖਸ਼ੀ ਚਾਲਕ ਨੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਬਣ ਜਾਣਾ ਘਰ - ਘਰ ਪੁੱਤ ਜੰਮਦੇ । 

ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਨ 6. ਕਿਲਾ ਰਾਏਪੁਰ ਖੇਡ ਮੇਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਰਸ਼ਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਨੋਰੰਜਨ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ? 

ਉੱਤਰ- ਕਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਰਾਏਪੁਰ ਦਾ ਖੇਡ ਮੇਲਾ ਦਰਸ਼ਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਮਨੋਰੰਜਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ । ਇਸ ਖੇਡ ਮੇਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ - ਨਾਲ ਕੁੱਝ ਹੋਰ ਸਭਿਆਚਾਰਿਕ ਕਿਰਿਆਵਾਂ ਵੀ ਕਰਵਾਈਆਂ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਨਾਚ , ਗਿੱਧਾ , ਭੰਗੜਾ , ਹਰਿਆਣਵੀ ਨਾਚ , ਰਾਜਸਥਾਨੀ ਨਾਚ , ਮਲਵਈ ਗਿੱਧਾ ਆਦਿ ਖਿੱਚ ਦਾ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ । ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਮਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਗਵੱਈਏ ਲੋਕ - ਗੀਤ ਗਾ ਕੇ ਦਰਸ਼ਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਮਨੋਰੰਜਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ । 

ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਨ 7. ਕਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਰਾਏਪੁਰ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਓ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਹਨ ? 

ਉੱਤਰ- ਕਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਰਾਏਪੁਰ ਦੇ ਖੇਡ ਮੇਲੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਧੁੰਮਾਂ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੀਆਂ ਹੱਦਾਂ ਟੱਪ ਕੇ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੈਣ ਲੱਗੀਆਂ , ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਸਿੱਟੇ ਵਜੋਂ 1954 ਈ : ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਦੀ ਕਬੱਡੀ ਦੀ ਟੀਮ ਨੇ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ੀ ਟੀਮ ਵਜੋਂ ਇਸ ਟੂਰਨਾਮੈਂਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਗ ਲਿਆ । ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਕੈਨੇਡਾ , ਅਮਰੀਕਾ , ਮਲੇਸ਼ੀਆ , ਸਿੰਘਾਪੁਰ ਅਤੇ ਇੰਗਲੈਂਡ ਵਰਗੇ ਵਿਕਸਤ ਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਟੀਮਾਂ ਨੇ ਵੱਖ - ਵੱਖ ਸਮਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਇਸ ਖੇਡ ਮੇਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਗ ਲਿਆ । ਇਸ ਖੇਡ ਮੇਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਖਿਡਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ - ਨਾਲ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ੀ ਜਾਨਵਰ ਵੀ ਟੂਰਨਾਮੈਂਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਖਿੱਚ ਦਾ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਬਣਦੇ ਹਨ । ਕੁੱਤਿਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਦੌੜਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਗ ਲੈਣ ਲਈ ਸ . ਭੋਲਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਰੋਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਸ . ਚਰਨਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਿੱਧੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਗਰੇਹਾਉਂਡ ਨਸਲ ਦੇ ਪਾਵਰਜੱਟ ਕੁੱਤਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੈਨਕੂਵਰ ( ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ) ਤੋਂ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਤੌਰ ' ਤੇ ਇੱਥੇ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਆਏ । ਇਹਨਾਂ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ੀ ਕੁਤਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਖੇਡ ਮੇਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ ।

Question 1. Give information about the history of Fort Raipur. 

A. The village of Raipur was captured by a man named Rai Lala in 1560 AD. He built five forts for his sons to ward off enemies, which made the village of Raipur known as Qila Raipur. The village of Qila Raipur is located eleven miles south of Ludhiana district, near Dehlon (town name). Village Qila Raipur is connected by railway line and roads. 

Question 2. When was the Qila Raipur Rural Olympic Games born in India? 

Ans:- Qila Raipur Games was born in 1933 after the Hockey Tournament at Jalandhar. The hockey team of village Qila Raipur bagged the second place in this tournament. Although the tournament was of no importance, the victory was instrumental in starting the games at Fort Raipur. At that time the purpose of these games was to encourage every child to play by encouraging the players who won the cup. When these games started, no one would have thought that Qila Raipur's sports fair would make a name for itself all over the world in the name of rural Olympics. 

Q3. What do you know about the ancient games of Qila Raipur?

Answer: This sports fair represents the passions, wide breasts, open-mindedness of the Punjabis living on the land of the five rivers, the charismatic youngsters, the slogans and the deeds of the Babis. This sports fair saved many ancient games from disappearing. The initiative of organizing rural sports fairs in Punjab has been taken by the sports fair of Raipur. Qila Raipur Sports Fair serves as the backbone of rural sports fairs in Punjab.

Q4. Why Qila Raipur Sports Fair is held between October and November? 

A. When this sports fair came into existence, farming was done with oxen in Punjab. Farmers become idle by sowing crops in the month of Kotak. To save the oxen from being lethargic, the farmers decided to run oxen races and in 1934 AD bullock cart races were started. Bullock cart races became the center of attraction for the spectators at this sports fair. One mall, a record 133 bullock carts participated in the sports fair. Baba Bakhshish Singh set out from the playground of Qila Raipur to run four bullock carts together in bullock cart races. Baba Bakhshish Singh was a famous bullock cart driver of his time who waved the whip of his victory in the air for more than three decades in a row. 

Question 5. Why was Baba Bakhshish Singh Qila famous in Raipur Sports Fair? 

Answer: In the bullock cart races, four bullock carts were chased together by Baba Bakhshish Singh from the playground of Qila Raipur. Baba Bakhshish Singh was a famous bullock cart driver of his time who waved the whip of his victory in the air for more than three decades in a row. Due to this, such slaps naturally appeared on the faces of the spectators: ** Bakshi Chalak was born by someone from house to house. 

Q6. How is the spectator entertained in Qila Raipur Sports Fair? 

A. Fort Raipur Sports Fair entertains the spectators to the fullest. Apart from sports, some other cultural activities are also organized in this sports fair in which folk dances of Punjab, Giddha, Bhangra, Haryanvi dance, Rajasthani dance, Malwai Giddha etc. are the center of attraction. Famous singers of Punjab entertain the audience by singing folk songs. 

Q7. Why Qila Raipur Games are popular abroad? 

Ans:- The festivities of Qila Raipur Sports Fair spread beyond the borders of Punjab and India and as a result, in 1954, the Pakistan Kabaddi team participated in the tournament as a foreign team. Since then teams from developed countries like Canada, USA, Malaysia, Singapore and England have participated in this sports fair from different times. In this sports fair, along with the players, foreign animals also become the center of attraction in the tournament. To participate in dog races. Bhola Singh Roli and S. Charanjit Singh Sidhu brought his Greyhound PowerJet dogs exclusively from Vancouver (Canada). These foreign dogs won first place in this sports fair.
