 Human Body (1)

Five Marks Que-Ans

Question 1, What are the functions of human body? Describe them.

A. There are many functions in the human body that perform different functions for the body. For proper functioning of the body, it is important that these functions work properly. If any of these systems is able to function properly, it will have a detrimental effect on the body. The human body has the following functions:

            1. Muscle System - Muscle system provides information about the muscles of the body. Muscles help our body in the activities of walking, stretching, running, jumping etc. The movement in our body is possible only because of these muscles.

         2. Blood Circulation System - The main parts of the blood circulation system - like the heart, arteries, veins and cells - the shape of a human heart is like a closed fist that is always beating. Blood flows through the arteries throughout the body.

        3. Respiratory System - Human beings need oxygen all the time to survive. We breathe in oxygen and exhale carbon dioxide. The nose, trachea and lungs are the main organs of this system.

        4. Digestive System - The body needs energy to do everything. This energy we get from food. The food we eat becomes fit for the body after many chemical reactions. The food system provides us with information on how food is digested by the body and how the energy produced from it is used.

        5. Excretory System - After the human body digests the rest of the food is wasted in the body. Working in the body also produces many wastes such as sweat and carbon dioxide. It is very important to get rid of these waste products from the body otherwise various diseases can arise in the body. The excretory system works to flush out these useless and harmful substances from the body. The skin and kidneys are the main organs of this system which excrete these wastes through sweat and urine.

        6. Nervous System - All the activities taking place in the human body are controlled by the brain. There is a network of nerve fibers in our body which contributes a lot to the transmission of messages from the brain to the bodily organs and the activities taking place in the bodily organs from the brain to the muscles and from the muscles to the brain.
